A New Project for English Pupils
by Jana Passova
There is a new idea how to find the best employee. A new project called Managing Information Across Partners. †All pupils from 14 to 19 years old will have their school results and records available on Internet. They will be permanently placed on an electronic database which employers will be able to enter. The idea is not completely new because pupils have a Unique Pupil Number but this is usable only for internal purposes. When the pupil leaves, it expires. New thing is just a possibility of partnership with wide environment. At least 40 partners are included. The most important are the Learning and Skills Council, the Department of Innovation, Universities and Skills and the Department for Work and Pensions. This new project will be used from September. The scheme is based on a unique Learner Number. It is great identifier that is able to use for life. This number is validated and that is the reason what makes the number unique. Records of students will include all personal details and results of exams. A plan is to expand the project in the future. The system should be able to contain more information and join information from more sources of the Internet. The pupils will be able to control or restrict these dates. Of course, pupils' details will be able to transfer in case he or she change the school or start college. This project should be able to save a lot of work of teachers, students and companies as well. The only problem is the question of details safety.
